Georgia-based rock band Widespread Panic may well be the best-kept secret in rock and roll. Now, for the first time, fans can open a door to the band’s musical life and soul. The Earth Will Swallow You explores the band’s relationships with each other, its own music and the musicians who have influenced its sound and repertoire.

The film follows Widespread Panic’s 2000 summer tour, showcasing performances at bellwether venues such as majestic Red Rocks Amphitheater, San Francisco’s Warfield Theatre and New York’s Central Park as well as the smaller theaters and cities of America’s heartland. Through onstage highlights and candid  off-stage moments, audiences gain an intimate view of the creative and professional lives of this beloved group of musicians.

Directed and produced by the acclaimed filmmaking team of Christopher and Geoffrey Hanson, The Earth Will Swallow You also spotlights never-before-seen footage of the band teaming with legendary artists, including Jorma Kaukonen, Taj Mahal, Merl Saunders and Vic Chesnutt.
