Daniel Hutchens - Widespread Panic
Widespread Panic with Bloodkin Live

Daniel Hutchens

For the days to come, we will be missing our Brother Daniel Hutchens, who passed last Sunday evening.

Danny and Eric Carter, his friend since childhood, wrote the Bloodkin songs that Widespread Panic has learned from and leaned on for over thirty years.

At our shared rehearsal space in Athens, Danny sat on a guitar case and played “Makes Sense to Me” and then said something like, “I just thought maybe you all would sound good playing it, if you want to.” Remembering that day…maybe he was saying, “If you want to sound good.”

A picture-filled songwriter, Friend, and story provider to so many, Daniel Franklin Hutchens lives on through his Heart-touched Music and Being.

Good night, Sir. We thank you.
