Vail 1996

Announcing the 20th installment of the Widespread Panic Archive multi-track series, Vail 1996!

This show was recorded live on January 29, 1996, and was the third of three nights at Garton’s in Vail, Colorado. It also marked the midpoint of Widespread Panic’s legendary Sit n’ Ski Tour, a 20-date trek across the Rockies where both fans and band skied during the day and jammed at night.

Vail 1996 is a rowdy and playful show, giving the listener a glimpse into the intimate, laid-back, and (mostly) acoustic vibe of the tour.

Listen to “Radio Child” from Vail 1996:

The show was mixed and mastered by John Keane from the original multi-track tapes, and will be released on nugs.net and all major streaming platforms on Friday, May 1, 2026. You can order it on 2-CD now at Widespread Merchandise along with this beautiful commemorative poster by Jason Clements.
